While the school originated in the late 1960s, Paulding County High opened the doors to this new facility in fall 2010. Prior to that milestone, PCHS reached another when it was recognized as a School of Excellence in 2003. According to its mission statement, the school "is dedicated to providing a rigorous curriculum with high expecations and a caring staff who inspires students to excel academically by taking ownership of their learning as they become productive citizens in a global community. The school's mascot is the Patriots.
