Some days no matter what one tries, things don't always go the way one had planned. Just ask theRead More Archbishop.

'flame retardant'? Some stupid liberal will probably try to change that to 'flame handicapped'.
wmsmom April 13, 2014 at 09:15 pm
No, the name doesn't need to change when it's used in the proper context. Your thoughts areRead More handicapped though, if that helps?

Now if Georgia can get some jobs for these grads. Only 2 companies in the last engineering job fairRead More were from Georgia. Sad we send our best out of state!
petluvr March 28, 2014 at 10:39 am
Yeah GT!

Not all Tech grads can stay here in Georgia. We are spread across the world! Another result of theirRead More enrollment policy and the needs of the world! When you are one of the best, non Georgians want you. When I was looking for a job , I had a few out of state firms state that they would like to add a GT grad to their staff. Cross "pollination" I guess!

Want happened to the person who used to be the editor of PATCH? A Ms. Murchison (Spelling?), IRead More believe. Just curious as I thought she was a good editor.

I live in Kennesaw and have two owls living in my woods. They dont like it when I even try to getRead More pics, I can only imagine how terrified the owl "mascot" must be. Dress someone in a mascot costume and quit using Gods beautiful animals as a sick way to entertain people. Phyllis, u just have to ignore those hateful responses, some people are just ignorant.
Kirsten February 26, 2014 at 11:06 pm
Exactly--interesting, Patch, how your "sampling" of comments used in the article seemsRead More decidely one-sided.

PETA actually DID try to get UGA to eliminate UGA and use a robotic dog. Not thinking that willRead More happen. Phyllis, so you're saying that we shouldn't have dogs as pets? REALLY? What is your suggestion to do with the abundance of dogs in the world? I am seriously asking you. And PETA has been documented with tossing euthanized dogs that they "rescued" into dumpsters, so PLEASE stop glorifying them.

In the photo, Sturgis has that "Yo, PETA, don't mess with my gig!" look.

Mike Ross , nicely stated! I couldn't agree more!!
David Tiffany March 2, 2014 at 10:04 am
While I agree, generally, with Mike Ross, he goes a bit overboard - just as the PETA people do. TheRead More owl undoubtedly lives better than other members of its species, rather than the other way around. PETA should spend its time and resources trying to protect animals that are truly being treated abusively. Mike should also tone it down. The people at PETA are not evil, but only want the best possible treatment for the animals that share our planet.

I commend the administration of Paulding County Schools for looking out for the safety of the kidsRead More regardless of what the public thinks. To think that the descision to closed or open schools is based on personal agendas of board members of administration is absolutely ridiculous.
janh999 February 14, 2014 at 09:19 am
They haven't addressed anything other than giving the kids another day off that could have been justRead More a late arrival day. The administration has still left it up in the air about make up days. We don't know when or if the kids will have to make up the missed days. Families make plans in advance. I know our Spring break plans are already made & Im working on the summer now. Time to get their acts in gear & start "addressing" the issue.
Crissy W. February 14, 2014 at 09:28 am
I understand closing school for today because there could still be icy patches on the road. But IRead More don't agree with keeping the winter break.
janh999 February 2, 2014 at 09:47 am
Honestly, I think Paulding & all the other school district in this state that screwed up need toRead More suck it up & lose their federal funding for all 4 days. The greed of getting that funding for Tuesday was what got them into this mess. If you aren't familiar, schools that stay until 12-1pm (Depending on their schedule times) get a full days funding. If they would have closed earlier, they would have only gotten a portion of that money. My son wont be making up days during breaks, we have plans during breaks. He wont be making up time by coming in early or staying later, 8am-2:30pm is long enough for him to be there. You screwed up, you should be the ones that suffer. SUCK IT UP PAULDING, SUCK IT UP!

Common Core was meant to be "cookie cutter learning", made to make all children think theRead More same & I hope in the coming years they realize it was a bad decision. My son's teacher told me they adopted common core because kids getting out of school were unable to handle themselves socially or have a good job interview. That has nothing to do with how or what they're taught in school, that has to do with these kids having their faces pressed against their phone, tv & computer screens & their parents letting them. Between common core & the tech world, people are turning into drones... Great Job America!
