2 Hiram Residents Busted on Drug Charges

They allegedly had 7.7 pounds of marijuana.

Four people, including two Hiram residents, have been arrested on drug-related charges after police found more than seven pounds of marijuana in their Kennesaw Extended Stay America Hotel room. About 8:45 p.m. Sunday, there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the room at the Busbee Drive hotel. When officers opened the door "smoke came billowing out," a Cobb police officer wrote in a Cobb County criminal warrant. Marijuana, a glass pipe with marijuana residue and a glass jar containing marijuana were "found in plain view," according to the warrant. Officers obtained a search warrant and found even more drugs. Human Remains Belong to Hiram Grad

The GBI made the announcement today, on the eve of a memorial scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Destiny World Church.

DNA testing has confirmed that human remains found last week in Hawkinsville belong to Jmaal Malik Keyes, the missing college student from Austell. "The identification of Keyes was obtained through DNA parentage testing with Keyes’ biological parents," GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The GBI made the announcement today, on the eve of a memorial scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Destiny World Church. Keyes, a graduate of Hiram High School in Paulding County, had been a member of Destiny World Church for the past decade. Hiram Woman Killed in Cobb Crash

Her 14-year-old son was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

A 46-year-old Hiram woman was killed and her 14-year-old son was injured Wednesday in a three-vehicle accident in West Cobb. About 12:53 p.m. Wednesday, Delores Sibert of Hiram was driving eastbound on Dallas Highway when she attempted to make a left turn into the Village Green Shopping Center parking lot, said Sgt. Dana Pierce, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. As Sibert attempted to pull into the lot, she turned into the path of a silver 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck that was westbound on Dallas Highway. The truck struck the passenger side of Sibert's green 1995 Toyota Avalon, Pierce said. I knew Ms. Sibert and her four children. the once lived across the street from us and my son and niece were very good friends with her kids. It is sad that at this time of the year the children are making funeral arrangements for their Mom instead of getting ready for their proms or graduation.
