Rival Downs North Paulding

The damage was done. Although North Paulding senior forward Chris Kennard drained 12 of his game-high 19 points in the second half, the 6-foot-3 forward’s efforts were too late. North Paulding High School’s boys basketball team was unable to overcome a blistering first-half shooting performance by host Allatoona to fall 50-31 late Wednesday night in the first-round Lake City Classic Basketball Tournament. Allatoona (9-2) jumped on North Paulding quickly by vaulting out to a 21-9 lead with 3:30 left in the second quarter. They entered halftime holding a 33-13 advantage. Sloppy First Half Dooms South Paulding in Lake City Classic

The Spartans commit 31 first-half turnovers in a loss to South Atlanta.

The South Paulding girls experienced a first half that can only be described as brutal in their 60-44 loss to South Atlanta on Tuesday in the opening round of the Lake City Classic at Allatoona High School. The Spartans managed just 11 points in the first half, only two of which came in the second quarter. And they turned the ball over a whopping 31 times in the first two quarters against a frenetic South Atlanta press. By the time the second quarter ended, the Spartans were down 27-11. "Obviously we were playing really sloppy, and we've been off on Christmas break," South Paulding head coach Kelly Nye-Hinkson said. "We just weren't playing South Paulding basketball."
