The Paulding Chamber of Commerce has announceed that Kennesaw State University Athletic Director Vaughn Williams will be the guest speaker for the Feb. 7, Georgia Power Luncheon. Williams is only the second athletic director in the school’s history and oversees Kennesaw State’s 14 NCAA division 1 men’s and women’s sports programs. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts and his master’s degree in Administrative Studies from Boston College. He was a four-year letterman in football at UMass. Williams will talk about exciting plans for Kennesaw State’s athletic program that will add a whole new dimension to the university! Longtime University of Georgia head football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley will serve as the keynote speaker at Thursday’s Georgia Power Luncheon put on by the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce at the Paulding County Senior Center. Dooley recently authored History and Reminiscences of the University of Georgia. With the help of artist Steve Penley, the book sketches UGA history from its beginnings in the late 18th century through the end of 2011. Dooley’s presentation will focus on the university’s history and his time in Athens. He’ll also be signing copies of his book at the event.
