Authorities Tuesday arrested two individuals following a drug investigation that followed the October execution of a drug warrant that led to the death of a Paulding man. According to a Paulding County Sheriff’s Office news release, about noon Tuesday officers from the Forest Park Police Department and agents from the U.S. Marshal’s Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force went to the Paisley Park Apartments in Forest Park to execute an arrest warrant on 47-year-old Brenda Rose VanCleve. VanCleve was wanted by the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force for Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCSA) possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and VGCSA sales of methamphetamine—both felonies. Nearly one month since a Paulding man died after Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force agents shot him during the execution of a search warrant, no arrests have been made as a result of the warrant and related investigation. Danny Hammett, 60, was shot by agents during the Oct. 17 incident. Hammett—full name Daniel John Thomas Hammett—succumbed to his injuries at Grady Hospital in Atlanta about an hour and a half after authorities executed the narcotics search warrant at a Nebo Road residence in Hiram. Funeral arrangements have been made for a Hiram man who died Wednesday after Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force agents shot him during the execution of a search warrant. The family of Danny Hammett will hold visitation at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram today from 4 to 8 p.m. Hammett’s funeral is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Hammett’s death on Wednesday came less than an hour and a half after HPDTF agents and Paulding deputies executed a narcotics search warrant at 3851 Nebo Road in Hiram. Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force agents involved in a shooting Wednesday that left a local man dead have been placed on routine paid administrative leave until the conclusion of an investigation. The Hiram man shot by authorities during the execution of a search warrant on Nebo Road Wednesday afternoon has died, WSB-TV reported Wednesday night. An armed 60-year-old man was shot by drug task force agents Wednesday afternoon after authorities executed a search warrant, two Atlanta media outlets reported. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the man was found “with some sort of weapon in his hand,” according to a Paulding County Sheriff’s official who was not named in the story. CBS Atlanta reported that the warrant had been executed at 3851 Nebo Road at 3:15 p.m. by the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force. On Wednesday, members of the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force (HPDTF) along with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and K-9 Unit, Dallas Police Department K-9 Unit and the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 1155 Rainey Lake Road in Buchanan. According to a news release Monday, the SWAT Team entered the residence just before dawn without incident. After an extensive search of the 19-acre property and residence was completed by the HPDTF Agents and K-9 units, about 3.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, along with a firearm, were found.
