The Georgia Department of Labor is helping an area employer fill a handful of jobs in metro Atlanta. The recruitment will be held at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. On Thursday, Jan. 17, Home Depot will be recruiting five supervisors who speak both English and Spanish to work in stores in the metro Atlanta area. The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) certificate and one year of supervisory experience. The recruitment for Home Depot is set for Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. The company will be recruiting for bilingual supervisors who are fluent in both Spanish and English. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) and have at least one year of supervisory experience. Salaries are in the $12/hour range, depending on experience.

Don’t Trash the Tree—Recycle It

There are several options earth-friendly options for disposing of your live Christmas tree.

Part of a statewide effort to recycle Christmas trees for use as mulch in public beautification projects, Bring One for the Chipper is Keep Georgia Beautiful's annual Christmas tree recycling program. An affiliate of Keep Georgia Beautiful, Home Depot in Hiram is set to accept Christmas trees for recycling Saturday, Jan. 7. The store will accept the trees from 9 a.m. to noon at 145 Depot Drive.
