The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined to 8.7 percent in October, down from 9 percent in September. The unemployment news for November was excellent for Georgia and the Atlanta area; it was even better for Paulding County. The jobless rate in Paulding fell to 9.1 percent in November from 9.9 percent in October and 10.5 percent in November 2010, according to preliminary figures the Georgia Department of Labor released Thursday. The Labor Department originally reported October’s rate at 10 percent but revised the number downward, just as it revised the September figure from 10.3 percent to 10.2 percent. The local numbers are not adjusted for seasonal factors. But they do reflect real job growth. Almost 600 more Paulding residents had jobs at the end of November than were working a month earlier, and the county added more than 1,400 jobs …
