DNA testing has confirmed that human remains found last week in Hawkinsville belong to Jmaal Malik Keyes, the missing college student from Austell. "The identification of Keyes was obtained through DNA parentage testing with Keyes’ biological parents," GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Human remains have been found near the home of Robert Kane Rolison, the 17-year-old Middle Georgia State College student who was arrested last week in connection with the death of a Hiram High School graduate. The remains were found at a Hawkinsville site last week, and the GBI will run tests to see if they belong to Jmaal Malik Keyes, according to WMAZ-TV in Macon. Middle Georgia State College campus police arrested Rolison, a dual-enrolled high school and Middle Georgia State student, Thursday night. He faces a charge of murder. A Paulding County woman has been charged with killing her husband after his body was found in a burning house. Jeanie Rebecca Caldwell, 59, was found in the woods Saturday near the couple's burning house where Billy Gene Caldwell, 64, was discovered dead. An autopsy confirmed that Caldwell’s death was a homicide, according to Cpl. Ashley Henson, Paulding County Sheriff's Office. Police then began interviewing her about the incident. After the interview, Caldwell was subsequently charged with the felony murder of her husband. Jeanie Caldwell is currently being held in the Paulding County Detention Center without bond.

An 18-year-old Marietta man has been charged in connection with a homicide that occurred late Wednesday on Macland Road near Covington Drive. Tony Lee Grant Jr. has been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Jefferson Joseph of Hiram. According to a Paulding County Sheriff’s Office news release, Joseph was shot in the chest during a fight just after 11 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta where he succumbed to his injuries later in the evening. The U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) began an immediate investigation and was able to quickly locate and arrest Grant without incident. Paulding County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on Macland Road around Covington Drive about 11:11 p.m. Wednesday. The Criminal Investigations Division at the sheriff’s office is working with agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in order to determine who committed the murder. Paulding County deputies last night responded to the area of Macland Road and Covington Drive regarding a 911 call of an assault where someone was possibly shot. When deputies arrived, a 23-year-old man was found unresponsive. The victim was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by doctors.
