Here are 10 ways you and your team can use Dallas-Hiram Patch for FREE to honor victims and survivors and help raise cancer awareness and money for a cure.

The culmination of months of fundraising, Relay For Life of Paulding County—an event during which participants will honor cancer victims and survivors and raise awareness and money for a cure—is set for May 17 at White Oak Park in Dallas. Sixty-eight local teams, with a total of 509 participants, have already raised $29,385.88, according to the American Cancer Society's event website. They include teams of volunteers from local groups and organizations, schools, churches and businesses. It’s December, which means many nonprofits are in the midst of community projects such as toy drives or feed the hungry events, while others are soliciting donations before the end of the 2012 tax year. The summer wedding season is almost over, but you can always post your engagement and wedding announcements, and more, on Patch.

Want to announce to the world that you’re engaged to that great gal you’ve had your eye on for a while? Ready to tell everyone that you just married that nice man from your hometown? Patch is ready to help. Share the news of your engagement and/or wedding with a free Patch announcement. Simply click the Announcement option under the News tab on the homepage.
