New Animal Control Shelter Hours Take Effect Today

Enforcement days and hours will remain unchanged.

Paulding County Animal Control will begin new shelter hours this morning. The shelter will be open Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Tuesdays and Fridays from 2 to 7 p.m. The shelter will be closed Wednesdays, Thursdays and holidays. Enforcement days and hours will not change. Enforcement hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on-call for emergencies only at all other hours and on Wednesdays, Sundays and holidays. Last Chance: Save a Life Tuesday

Potential pets from Paulding County Animal Control need a home—can you provide one?

We’re not calling this article “Last Chance” because it’s your final opportunity to adopt a pet at a good price—but rather, because it’s the last chance for an animal that might make a good pet in your home. Paulding County Animal Control’s “Save a Life Tuesday” program allows potential pet owners each Tuesday to adopt animals scheduled for euthanasia the next day for $10, which covers the cost of the pet’s microchip. Animal control typically offers the program each Tuesday unless its facility is closed to the public that day for some reason. The flyer for “Save a Life Tuesday” is attached to this article. Find a New Pet at Holiday ‘Block Party’

Paulding County Animal Control is holding this Nov. 19 event that will feature pet adoptions and more.

If you’re looking for a new pet to give your loved one(s) for the holidays, an event set for this Saturday could be right up your alley. Paulding County Animal Control is offering $35 adoptions during the Nov. 19 “Holiday Block Party,” which is being held at the Paulding County Recreation Department and the Samuel U. Braly Sports Complex from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those already with pets can bring them along to have them take part in an animal costume contest. Attendees also will be able to meet area veterinarians and pet groomers and take part in clinics on rabies and microchipping. Other happenings at the event, aimed more at the humans in attendance, will include face painting, a bake sale, vendors and raffles. But animals will ultimately …
