Rep. Graves to Speak to Paulding Chamber, Followed by Business Expo

Congressman Tom Graves will speak at the May 2 Paulding Chamber of Commerce meeting and a business expo will follow the program at noon.

The Paulding Chamber of Commerce is honored to host Congressman Tom Graves at the Georgia Power Luncheon on May 2. This monthly membership meeting, sponsored by GreyStone Power Corporation, will be at the Paulding County Senior/Community Center and begins at 11 a.m. with a business expo followed by the program at Noon. Graves serves Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, which spans from the northwest borders with Alabama and Tennessee down to the suburbs of Atlanta.  Tom entered Congress in June 2010 after winning a special election to represent Georgia's 9th Congressional District.  As a result of reapportionment, he was reelected in 2012 in the newly created 14th Congressional District. Help Wanted for East Paulding Walmart Work

The Georgia Department of Labor on Thursday will recruit in both Dallas and Marietta to find workers to remodel the Dallas Walmart.

The Georgia Department of Labor is helping Altruistic Staffing fill about 20 jobs for workers to help remodel the inside of Dallas’ Walmart store. The staffing company on Thursday will hold a recruitment event from noon until 4 p.m. at the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, 655 Jimmy Campbell Parkway in Dallas. Another recruiting event will be held earlier in the day Thursday—from 10 a.m. to noon—at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. Applicants must have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED), two forms of identification, and be able to lift at least 25 pounds, stand for at least two hours at a time and work flexible hours. Few Tickets Remain for Chamber’s Annual Dinner

The event, celebrating the Paulding Chamber of Commerce’s 52nd year, will be held Jan. 17 at the Paulding County Senior Center.

Time is running out to secure what is typically a hot ticket in Paulding County. The Paulding Chamber of Commerce’s annual seated dinner, which will commemorate the organization’s 52nd year of existence, will be held at the Paulding County Senior Community Center Thursday, Jan. 17. The event will begin with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. and dinner seating at 7 p.m. Few tickets remained as of earlier this week and are being sold individually at $125 each. Rhubarb Jones will give the event’s keynote address. Formerly the longest-running morning radio personality in Atlanta, according to his website, Jones now serves as a part-time instructor of communication at Kennesaw State University as well as the college’s director of special events in the …

Paulding Chamber: Shop Locally Today

The Paulding Chamber of Commerce is encouraging holiday shoppers to support small businesses by taking part in Small Business Saturday.

Now entering its third year, Small Business Saturday falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, between “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday,” a day dedicated to supporting the local, independently owned businesses that add character to neighborhoods across the country. The Paulding Chamber of Commerce supports “Small Business Saturday” by encouraging a number of ways that shoppers and retailers alike can get involved and support each other: "We’re excited to be part of the Small Business Saturday," Paulding Chamber President/CEO Carolyn Wright said in a news release. Paulding Firms Earn Inaugural Industry Appreciation Awards

The Paulding Chamber of Commerce recognized the accomplishments of three county employers at its inaugural Industry Appreciation Breakfast Wednesday morning at the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport. Hosted by the Chamber and Chattahoochee Technical College Community and Economic Development, the breakfast honored MG International as Industry of the Year, T&R Fixtures as Manufacturer of the Year, and Armacell as the recipient of the first Safety Award. Officials plan to hold next year’s Industry Appreciation Awards ceremony in April.   MG International, located at 90 International Parkway in Dallas, is privately owned and headquartered in Sendai, Japan. Former UGA Coach Dooley Speaking at Luncheon Thursday

The Paulding Chamber of Commerce is hosting the UGA notable at its Georgia Power Luncheon.

Bulldogs fans better get their tickets while they last. Longtime University of Georgia head football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley will serve as the keynote speaker at Thursday’s Georgia Power Luncheon put on by the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce at the Paulding County Senior Center. Dooley recently authored History and Reminiscences of the University of Georgia. With the help of artist Steve Penley, the book sketches UGA history from its beginnings in the late 18th century through the end of 2011. Dooley’s presentation will focus on the university’s history and his time in Athens. He’ll also be signing copies of his book at the event. The four men vying to become Paulding County’s next chief magistrate spoke to attendees Tuesday at the Cobb EMC Power Breakfast.

The Paulding County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday held its Cobb EMC Power Breakfast at Bentwater Golf Club in Acworth. The breakfast gave attendees the chance to meet the candidates for Paulding County chief magistrate judge. The chief magistrate race is the most contested county election this year, as incumbent Martin Valbuena is the only officeholder facing three opponents. Dan Collins, Brian Hardison and Freddy Henderson are aiming to unseat him. See what the candidates had to say to attendees in the four attached videos.
