Officials say Allgood Elementary was not threatened or in any danger during the incident Friday.

$100K Check Presentation to Paulding Schools Tonight

Patch will award the grand prize from the 2012 Deck the House contest to Paulding County Schools during East Paulding High's home basketball game against Allatoona.

The waiting is nearly over. Tonight, Paulding County Schools will receive $100,000 from Patch thanks to a Dallas family’s Christmas decorations. Joey Felix and his family had their Dallas home selected by Patch readers across the country as the “best decked” house in the 2012 Deck the House contest, which asked residents of Patch towns to submit photos and videos of their homes decorated for the holiday season. Winning the contest meant their local school district—Paulding County Schools—would receive $100,000. Winning wasn’t easy. It was neck-and-neck in the final hours of the contest, Felix recalled right after the contest ended. But after placing second in the 2011 contest, the Paulding home took top honors in the 2012 competition. …

Paulding Schools See Delayed Dismissal, Canceled Events

Severe weather on Wednesday affected the school district’s afternoon and evening operations.

"Please be patient as our drivers and school personnel work to ensure the safety of our students," and alert on the district's website said. School Board Leadership To Be Selected Tonight

Tonight’s meeting of the Paulding County School Board will see Richard Manous begin his term as board member. The board also will select its chairman and vice chairman for 2013.

Tonight’s gathering of the Paulding County School Board will consist of several annual housekeeping measures as the board selects its leadership for the upcoming year. The meeting had originally been set for Jan. 8 but was moved to give officials more time to prepare following the district’s winter break. According to tonight’s agenda, which is attached to this article, board members’ first votes on the evening will be directed toward the selection of their chairman and vice chairman for 2013. The board is guaranteed to be headed by someone new this year as last year’s chairman, Michael Skelton, served his last meeting last month. Skelton last summer did not seek re-election to his board seat. This will be the first official meeting of …
