Surface of Highway 120 Gets Some Makeup

The Georgia DOT Maintenance crews will be working on sealing the cracks on the surface of the roadway of SR 120 in Paulding County through Friday, March 15, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Georgia DOT Maintenance crews will be working on sealing the cracks on the surface of the roadway of SR 120 in Paulding County through Friday, March 15, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sealing pavement cracks is a Georgia DOT maintenance practice that helps to prevent water from entering the base and sub-base of the roadway and extend the pavement life by at least three years, while improving rideability on that roadway. The surfaces of two highways in Fannin and Paulding Counties will be getting a little makeup starting today through Friday, March 8, from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The surfaces of two highways in Fannin and Paulding Counties will be getting a little makeup starting today through Friday, March 8, from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. State Route (SR) 515 in Fannin County and SR 120 in Paulding County are the two roads. Georgia DOT Maintenance crews will work on sealing the cracks on the surface of the roadway of SR 515/Appalachian Development Highway in Fannin County, and SR 120 in Paulding County. SR 120 Set To Be Resurfaced in Cobb, Paulding

Drivers in Cobb and Paulding could see the work begin soon and be completed by year’s end.

Construction work could soon begin on resurfacing State Route 120 in Paulding and Cobb counties. The Georgia Department of Transportation recently awarded a contract to resurface 7.123 miles of SR 120, beginning east of the Paulding-Cobb line and extending to John Ward Road in Cobb. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of December at a cost of $2,601,939.  Construction alerts and lane closure schedules will be announced before work begins.

Department of Transportation crews again this week are repairing parts of SR 6 during daytime hours.

Drivers in Paulding are encouraged to slow down and stay alert as road construction continues in one area of the county. Georgia Department of Transportation crews will be repairing the deteriorating edges of roadway on State Route 6 in Paulding County. The project will have crews working today, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. Workers were making repairs on the road last week as well. GDOT officials say drivers navigating through the affected areas should slow down and drive responsibly to avoid injury or death to workers. Roadwork on SR 6, 120 To Last Through Friday

State Routes 6 and 120 will have work crews making repairs through Friday, weather permitting.

Drivers in Paulding are encouraged to slow down and stay alert in two areas of road construction in the county.
