The band's version of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" got them the win in the Q100 contest.

Membes of the South Paulding High School on Thursday released a short video thanking their supporters for voting for them in an Atlanta-based radio show’s contest. The “Spirit of South Paulding” won $5,000 in The Bert Show’s "Battle of the High School Marching Bands." Q100 radio personalities Bert Weiss and Kristin Klingshirn called Director Christopher Carr and members of the Douglasville school's band to inform of the of the win to cheers of the high school students and a live snippet of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe", the song the band entered in the contest. Members of the South Paulding High School band will soon be dressed in new duds thanks to those who went online to support them in an Atlanta-based radio show’s contest. The “Spirit of South Paulding” will soon bring back to Douglasville $5,000 for winning The Bert Show’s "Battle of the High School Marching Bands." The band was one of 28 to begin the contest in October and had advanced to the final round earlier this month.
