College football programs are not allowed to place website addresses or social media messages on the field due to rules that were recently amended by the NCAA. Tell us what you think of the athletic association’s decision.
#GoDawgs or #GoJackets? Whichever your preference, you won’t see either on an NCAA football field this fall. The NCAA’s recent “Bulletin on Field Markings, Uniforms, etc.” expressly prohibits “social media designations such as URL’s and hashtags” (Hashtags are words or phrases that are preceded by the # symbol that can be used online to group messages together or to rally support for a common cause, such as for a favorite team.). The rule means that while you may see your fellow fans using Twitter and other social media platforms while at the game, you won’t see “#SicemDawgs” between the hedges at Sanford Stadium or “#GaTech” on Historic Grant Field in Bobby Dodd Stadium. Ten dollars of the cost goes to needs based scholarships.
The Bulldog Nation has a new way to show support for the University of Georgia on the road while also helping students fulfill their dream of a college education. UGA is releasing a new, sleeker version of its specialty state of Georgia license tag featuring the university’s iconic “power G” through the Georgia Department of Revenue. The new tag features a red, black and silver-gray design encompassing the entire plate. Beyond the display of Bulldog pride, the tag also raises money for need-based scholarships at UGA. For each specialty tag on the road, $10 annually goes to scholarships through the UGA Foundation. With 60,000 UGA tags currently on the road—more than any other university tag in the state—the specialty tag program goes a …

From UGA Sports Communications Dallas native and sophomore receiver Chris Conley had a standout game for the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. In his first career start, he helped the Bulldogs beat the Auburn Tigers 38-0. He tallied four receptions on the night for 32 yards total and one touchdown. The offense knew they had to take control of the game early in order to clinch the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division, and with Conley’s help, they did just that. On the first drive of the night, quarterback Aaron Murray threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Conley that put the Bulldogs on the scoreboard first. Conley continued to be a dependable target throughout the night. Conley, a former wide receiver for the North Paulding High School Wolfpack…

North Paulding High School grad Chris Conley helped the Bulldogs put points on the board during the team’s first game of the season.
Georgia Bulldogs fans in Paulding saw a former local player make an impact on the field this past Saturday. A former wide receiver for the North Paulding High School Wolfpack, Dallas native Chris Conley made a special play on UGA’s special teams unit during a second-quarter punt by Buffalo University. Conley blocked the punt, which led to his team getting the ball at Buffalo’s 23-yard-line. The play would ultimately lead to a 35-yard field goal for his team. In addition to his successful block, Conley during the game caught two passes from Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray for a total of 20 yards. Conley signed with the Bulldogs in 2011 and received one of the team’s Newcomer of the Year Awards as a freshman last fall. He appeared in 11 …
