The Marietta Museum of History and Patch want to offer you and a friend a special night out. We are giving away a pair of Strand tickets to March 1's Hearts for Heroes IV. Community Spotlight: Mardi Gras 5K Run [VIDEO]

Want to celebrate Mardi Gras in the Northwest Atlanta area? Enjoy festive food, music and family fun at Saturday's Marietta Mardi Gras 5K Run.

This week's Cobb, Douglas and Paulding Weekend & Community Spotlight features the 4th Annual Marietta Mardi Gras 5K Run on the Marietta Square. The event benefits the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta and it's community partners. The 5K run will begin Saturday at 8 a.m., with the 1K beginning at 8:45 a.m. and the Tot-Trot at 9 a.m. For the third year, the Junior League is teaming up with Shoes for the Cure for a shoe drive. All shoe donations are welcome - not just running shoes. There will be bins for drop-off available. Cost is $30 for adults and $15 for Tot-Trot. Enjoy music, exercise and Thanksgiving fun while helping fight poverty at MUST Ministries' 10th-annual Gobble Jog.

This week's Cobb, Douglas and Paulding Weekend & Community Spotlight features the 10th Annual Gobble Jog by MUST Ministries. The road race on Thanksgiving morning raises money to fight poverty. This year’s theme, “It’s kind of a big deal,” heralds the Nov. 22 event that will hopefully attract 10,000 runners, building on last year’s 9,453 attendees. Proceeds from the race help MUST Ministries provide 34,000 individuals each year with food, shelter, education and employment opportunities, clothing and access to healthcare to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness and foster long-term change.
