Paulding Teacher Fired
The Board of Education voted to terminate Judith Skelton after a hearing Tuesday night.
A 22-year veteran of the Paulding County School System was terminated Tuesday night after district officials said she failed to return from long-term medical leave. The Paulding County Board of Education voted unanimously to terminate Judith Skelton, who taught English at Paulding County High School. Skelton was granted a 60-day leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act after being involved in a car crash in March 2011. When her initial leave expired, she was granted long-term leave for one year, said Jennifer Ferguson, human resources specialist.
