Damage, Road Closures Reported
A tornado watch affecting Paulding has been extended until 5 a.m. Saturday.
Paulding's not quite out of the woods yet, as it along with several other Georgia counties remain under a tornado watch until 5 a.m. Saturday. The county is also under a flash flood watch until 7 a.m. Emergency officials late Friday reported damage in several spots in the county. According to MaryAnn Phipps, coordinator and public information officer for Paulding County Fire/Rescue and Emergency Management Agency, about a dozen homes were reported damaged amid Friday’s weather. At least four roads were closed as of late Friday due to fallen power lines and debris: Mt. Olivet Road, Wayside Lane, Old Yorkville Road and Spring Road.
