  • On the article Distracted Marietta Driver Says Angry Motorist Pointed Gun at Him

Honking to draw attention to being stopped from driving forward is acceptable. Showing a gun to threaten someone for such minor annoyance is an offense..

A city law prohibits guns from being intentionally used to provoke or threaten
anyone. A county statute prevents weapons as used for public disturbance.
Doesn't the state enforce a written order for reckless behavior against any
    member of this state too.

This driver should be charged on each count for disregarding protection of
    (A) a resident, (B) a citizen, (C) a member of our state.

Intimidation with violence should merit an arrest, a sentencing, and a fine.

With his license numbers available, enact quick justice for this behavior.

No warning, please. Punishment is due for this offender.

My granddaughter and I visit a nifty course to play.
It's Pumpkinvine Golf Club -- a country short course.
Has two Par3's, one Par 5, and six Par4's. We share
quality time to walk/talk/play golf. For her: $6; for me:
$10 for nine holes. About six mles from Burnt Hickory
Park between Hwy 61&41 off Dabbs Bridge Rd. We
find it peaceful, easy to walk, wide open. Fun for us.

    A-Buck-A-Hole! Pumpkinvine's been there 17 yrs.
Owner Tom Hamilton constantly cuts, He collects
fees out on his course. Keeps it family-friendly.

A neighbor said "try it, you'll like it". And we do.

I agree with Kayla. Says "we can do our thing".

Next step in golf is using your lessons and playing. I play at a place that's peaceful,
you play your own pace, and cheap. For $1 dollar a hole -- yes, buck a hole -- it's
nine holes, has level fairways, large greens, no sandtraps, and no teetimes. Just
go out and have fun....like I do. The course is PUMPKINVINE GOLF CLUB, built
and owned by Tom Hamilton, who's been open for 17 years now. It's located
along the Creek with straight fairways, grass cut daily, with walking only. It's
off Dabbs Bridge Road on Pumpkinvine Road....next to the Creek bridge over
Pumpkinvine Creek(2 miles west of 41). Go to the bridge, follow the road 1/4
mile, course is on the left. My granddaughter learned to play with me there.
And we practice hitting our clubs, having quality time talking and walking. Nice.

Consider how another high traffic city has delt with congestion(not the immense size
of all traffic tho, I know). Over six decades -- a convincing time to me -- Orlando has
accomodated consistent traffic situations. How Disney World accomodates half
a million passengers per month could provide some hope. They transport every
minute a sizeable population ABOVE GROUND.... not in any lanes. Using the
OVERHEAD MONORAILS monorails carefully solve monumental CONGESTION
    NEEDS.

Say, a system of monorails covering metro Atlanta. Interstates might have four:
Two down the middle of packed lanes, two above the shoulders already paved.
In place of existing concrete block barriers down the middle, construct concrete
elevated rails above traffic. Along 400, install passengers rails between lanes.
Marta did it. Consider two over the medians, two each side over the shoulders.

Seems possible to use a concept that's been tried/proven to overcome massive
congestions daily for billions of visitors, just in one sizeable locaton -- Disney
World with it's nine(always packed, they assure you) resorts. Select a dozen
hub locations throughtout metro Atlanta to test it's effectiveness. Maybe even
extend this system to lead elsewhere(i.e., Cumming-Buckhead, where those
riding monorails over 400 transfer to Marta; Cartersville-State Capital for incoming
    passengers over I75).

The purpose: merge monorails with the city's trans routes already there.

    Possibly.
