SFC Jeremy Powell, his wife and his three kids are having a yard sale today, trying to get enough money to save their home. The yard sale is being held at 1070 East Memorial Drive, in Dallas.
Due to his many deployments and Army required schools, Powell has had difficulty finding consistent, full-time work and has gotten behind on his house payments. His house is in foreclosure and he needs $5,500 by Nov. 5 to save it.
"Rather than walk away from his commitment, like a good soldier, SFC Powell has decided to stand and fight, but he needs YOUR help," reads the yard sale ad on Patch. "He stood for Freedom and You, now he and his family needs you to stand with them. Tell your friends, family and neighbors to come out, get some great stuff, and help our soldier!"
